K Kill The Shadow Casebook

Kill The Shadow choices and endings — what is confirmed now

Multiple endings are officially confirmed, and the store page teases that you can kill, judge, or even kiss the mastermind. Exact ending conditions are not yet verified, so this page only tracks what official and press material actually shows.

What is officially confirmed about endings

Multiple endings are a store-page feature, not a rumor. The official description goes further with one deliberately teasing line: at the end you can kill, judge, or even “kiss(?)” the mastermind — question mark included in the official copy. The page also states that “every choice you make will change the fate of countless characters.”

That is the full extent of what is officially published about endings as of July 26, 2026. No ending count, no branch map, no unlock conditions. The game releases on PC on August 4, 2026, and this page will be rebuilt from firsthand play after that.

The choice levers you control

Official and press material confirm three kinds of decisions that shape how cases resolve:

LeverWhat is confirmedSource type
Stat buildStrength, Spirit and Charm can be raised; your build determines which investigative paths open upStore page + press
Approach per situationEloquence, intelligence, time-rewind, bribery, psychological pressure, or violence are all named optionsStore page (official copy)
Who you side withNPCs can help or hinder you depending on your choicesPress (demo coverage)

The store page’s named cast — Captain Theo, Axel Flint, Rafe Carter, Kiki, Mrs. Reed, a Priestess, Auntie Bass and Chiffon — is presumably the pool of “countless characters” whose fates shift, but no official material links any specific character to any specific outcome, so neither do we.

Can you refuse to expose the mastermind?

Yes, apparently — this is the most interesting confirmed detail. Press coverage of the demo states that the Deduction System lets you identify the mastermind and then choose not to expose them. What sparing a culprit does to a case’s aftermath, or to the endings, is not yet verified anywhere.

Combined with the kill / judge / kiss tease, the confirmed picture is that Kill The Shadow treats “you solved it” and “what you do about it” as separate decisions. How you build Lucas determines which options you can even reach — covered in the beginner guide.

What is not yet verified (and what we will not invent)

To be explicit, none of the following exists in any official material we could find, and this site will not fabricate it before release:

  • The number of endings or their names
  • Which choices, cases or stats feed into which ending
  • Any point of no return or missable-decision list
  • Per-case consequence tables (see the case walkthrough hub for what is actually known about each case)
  • Whether the demo’s choices carry any signal about the full game’s branching

If a page elsewhere claims a full ending guide before August 4, 2026, it is not based on the released game.

How this page will handle spoilers after launch

When we verify endings firsthand, this page will keep the top sections spoiler-safe: conditions and mechanics first, with named outcomes and character fates separated clearly below a marked spoiler boundary. You should be able to check “did I miss a lever?” without having the mastermind’s identity spoiled.

FAQ

How many endings does Kill The Shadow have?
Not officially stated. The store page confirms "Multiple Endings" as a feature and teases that you can kill, judge, or kiss the mastermind, but no ending count or list has been published.
Do my stats lock me out of endings?
Not yet verified. Press coverage confirms Strength, Spirit and Charm gate which investigative paths open up during cases; whether that extends to locking endings has not been shown officially.
Is there a point of no return?
Unknown. Nothing official mentions save-point warnings or a final-choice cutoff. We will document this after playing the release build.
